The Wedding Shower!

SO.MUCH.FUN!!!!

Bridesmaids did a FABULOUS job. About 20 ladies came to help me celebrate in style.

(you can check out lots of pics at my other less PC blog - www.wienersausagechub.blogspot.com, link found in my profile).

Everyone was assigned a letter of my name to be Heather Anne Oliver....and had to bring a gift that started with whatever letter they got. Before I could open a gift I had to answer a question - if I got it wrong I had to pop a piece of hubba bubba in my mouth. By the end I was chewing approximately 12 pieces of gum because, ahem, Jen and Melissa were not making things easy on me. Thanks girls. Good thing I heart gum.

The absolute best thing was the scrapbook that was given to me. Every person there had to bring some pictures of me and them and had to decorate a page in a scrapbook (Melissa's lovely idea, Dawn's scrapbooking tools). It of course is awesome and made me cry, especially my mom's page with her wedding flowers and Vicky's page with her sob inducing letter all the way from NZ. Everyone's page was great - and there were alot of super fugly pics of me, which is fairly hilarious.

I realized then how many people I have in my life that have been there for so long. The girlfriends that I have are all in it for the long haul - Carmel (18 years!!), Jen (16 years!!!), Vicky (14 years!!), Melissa and Alexis (12 years!!) and the newbie Mikayla (only 3!!! years...but so many more to come....she's the only one that knows how to change a car battery after all).

Anyways, it was AWESOME!

In other news - booked my hair appointment for the big day of - At The Ginger Group. Its right next to the bridal boutique where my ridiculously princessy dress is, so the convenience factor is perfect.

We're off to the Union Club tonight to finalize our meal decision - the chef is making us a few dishes to pick from. mmmmmfoooood.

The CountDown is on!

Yesssss!!

Finally.

The invitations are out. Both sets.

Ones for ceremony/tea/reception were finicky to make, but they look awesome. I have mailed all across Canada, to the United States, Grand Cayman and England.

I also finally finished the ones for the ceremony/tea (as we can't have everyone we want come to the reception)...they also look pretty darn good. There is one stress I am happy to be done with.

I highly doubt anyone is reading this - and to be honest it probably won't get that interesting until the wedding or close to. I can't wait to post pictures here!

Weddings...

Fact: Everyone says that the guest list is the hardest and worst thing about planning a wedding. This is absolutely true. We want to invite everyone, but we can't and this pretty much sucks. I think we have finally gotten it down to the nitty gritty though.

Fact: Weddings are expensive. Thanks to the generosity of both of our parents, we can actually have a wedding that will be a classy affair, a dream come true.

Fact: Deciding on first songs, father/daughter songs etc...makes me all sappy and weepy. Hopefully this does not translate itself into a frenzy of crying on the actual day. This remains to be seen.

Fact: I am thrilled that the big day is coming closer!!

Thanks to Shannon for this...

A REALLY good reason to get married in a church.
